What is Atlantic Canada Rocks? Who created it?

Why do you cover multiple genres if “Rocks” is in your name?

We are huge rock fans, but we enjoy a lot of other music too, as do our readers. We use the name to demonstrate what an awesome place we live in and to show other groups how great it is. Our music coverage always changes with our reader’s interest, and we do our best to cover that. Our main focuses right now are rock, country, and heavy metal, there are some great artists in the top 40, but our fans want other coverage at the moment.

Who is on the ACR team?

Which team members make posts?

On the website, all articles will have the first and last name of the reporter. On Social media, the first and last initial will be used.

Do you cover festival/concerts live?

Yes, we attend, cover and review shows all around the region throughout the year. If we don’t have your show in our coverage, and you would like us to cover, please contact us.

So you are “non profit”? That’s cool, why do I see the occasional ad?

Non profit doesn’t always mean non cost, in order to serve our thousands of readers, we need rock solid web hosting, which doesn’t always come cheap, hence, the need for a few ads.

Awesome, can you tell me more about your market? Can I advertise?

For specifics, please contact the founder of the website, or publicity by hitting “Connect”.

What languages does ACR support?

Currently, all content is served in English.

Why do you call announcements “Big” or “Major”?

It’s up to the fans to decide how they feel about that, as this can differ for everyone.

Do you still write rumors?

We are entirely focused on being the best official news source for the latest concert information. Rumours are so 2012.

Why do you talk about acts that don’t have a concert announcement?

One of the other elements of what we do is concert discussion and campaigns for the acts fans want to see, we love making posts about that. The more interest an artist receives on ACR, the bigher the chance can catch the eye of promoters or spawn an ACR campaign.

What is an ACR campaign?

Campaigns are web and social media gatherings in support of an artist coming to Atlantic Canada. So far we have successfully done these for RUSH, Springsteen and AC/DC.

We understand that you sometimes cannot make a show, for a variety of reasons, and need to find someone to use them. These posts are very rare, so we allow them, however, posts selling your tickets for any more than face value(incl. tax/service fees) are not permitted, users engaging in this activity will receive a warning and have their post removed. Subsequent violation will result in a ban from the page and posts removed.

Any ACR Ticket contest winners caught doing this activity using our network will receive immediate ban action, regardless of the asking price and will be barred from any and all future contests. Winners, however, may make a post offering their tickets to someone else, in the same manner in which they received them, at no cost.
