Coldplay to rule Moncton July 21st? Early 2012 announcement? Rumour

“When your still waiting for the snow to fall, it doesn’t really feel like Christmas at all” is a line Coldplay have been known for in recent years, but the good news is, the snow is indeed beginning to trickle down around Atlantic Canada today. With the snow falling, and Christmas fast approaching, talk of a major concert for Magnetic Hill is beginning to pop up.

Sources tell Atlantic Canada Rocks that Coldplay will headline the Magnetic Hill Music Festival in Moncton NB on Saturday July 21st during their tour for the recently released Mylo Xyloto album. The source indicates that a deal is “nearly final”.

This lines up with a previous report that a “major event” was being planned for the July 20th weekend, which was also rumoured to host a Madonna show on the Friday night. The Madonna report stemmed from a leaked document that was later revealed to be a hoax by promoter Live Nation.

Speculation continues around the potential for a two day event, though it’s unclear at this point whether Madonna could in fact end up playing Friday night. Madonna is not known to play shows on Fridays as she practices Kabbalah, though the occasional exception has been made.

The July 21st date fits perfectly into Coldplay’s touring schedule which includes a July 9th date in Washington DC and a Toronto date on July 23rd, two nights after the Moncton show.

Sources have further indicated the Coldplay plans to announce more North American dates in January/February to fill in the July gap.

Fans have been waiting a long time to see the British Alternative Rock icons perform at Magnetic Hill, and it seems that time has finally come.

Stay tuned for the latest news on the Coldplay show! The stars are really starting to shine for Magnetic Hill!

Happy Holidays music lovers!
