BREAKING: Madonna to play MAGNETIC HILL July 20th? Halloween Announcement? Two Day Festival?

The biggest question on the minds of Atlantic Canadian music fans is centred around who will play a mega concert in the summer of 2012.

The answer to that may be coming early this year. Sources are telling Atlantic Canada Rocks that pop music legend Madonna is set to headline the 2012 Magnetic Hill Music Festival on July 20th.

The first indication came earlier today when DrownedMadonna posted an itinerary of the singer’s planned tour itinerary which lists the Moncton date. A July 18th show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough MA precedes the event while a Toronto show at the Rogers Centre will follow. These are both “confirmed”.

The tour will be announced on Monday October 31st at a press conference at Beverly Hills HQ.

The show is now listed as unconfirmed. However, this should not be taken as a negative since this image could have been taken at an earlier date, as well as that negotiations can continue until days or hours before announcements. In previous years, Moncton dates were generally announced after the headlining act’s initial tour announcement.

Further to this leak, sources around the City of Moncton tell us that a major event is indeed planned for Magnetic Hill on the July 20th weekend. It has been said that this years MHMF would be a two day event with Friday and Saturday night headliners. With this in mind, things seem to be lining up perfectly for the Madonna date.

It was also said that a Saturday night act would not be announced until a later date, though Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay and RUSH are among the rumoured talks.

Madonna is on the verge of releasing a new album in the late spring, with a February single. Rush, and The Boss are also hard at work on new albums, while Coldplay will release their latest on October 24th.

So, who’s ready for a “Holiday” in Moncton this summer?!
