Discussion: Cape Breton needs a major summer concert in 2012!

With three provinces hosting possibly the biggest shows they have ever seen this summer, Cape Breton music lovers are wondering when it’s their turn.

Over the past six years, Atlantic Canada has seen several cities trying their hand at a mega concert. Through this, we have been graced with acts such as AC/DC, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith Taylor Swift, and Bon Jovi, to name a few.

There is only one major region who has not yet produced an outdoor mega rock show, that place being Cape Breton Island.

This is strange considering that C.B happens to be one of the most musical places in the region. With tourists coming on and off the Island all summer, a rock festival would be a no-brainer.

The thing is, to make this happen, we need to come together and decide who should play, and where the concert should be held.

The Sydney area could be a logical location considering it’s easy access from Newfoundland, as well as an airport.

Who would play remains to be seen, I know that there are a lot of people wanting to see Metallica, as well as Bruce Springsteen. I know those are two acts on my list and I would certainly go anywhere in the region to see them.

What do you think? Should their be a mega concert on Cape Breton Island? Where should it be? Who should headline. Speak your mind in the comments!
