Atlantic Canada Rocks today launched a redesigned website focused on bringing concert news front and centre, for all readers, on any device. Our new portal includes a visuals based design, improved search and navigation, as well as feature parity for users on mobile devices.
This website revamp comes as the 2016 summer concert announcement season begins, following an incredible year in 2015.
Whats new at Atlantic Canada Rocks?
New Design
Our new website uses images to showcase our posts in a more elegant way than before, this allows fans to see more of our content, while having a deeper understanding of what they are viewing. We have also built in floating navigation bars, allowing easy navigation around the website, no matter where you are in your reading. The first thing you’ll see when you open our new site on mobile or desktop is a much larger slider, featuring the latest concert news, interviews and more, followed by image based tiles of even more great content. You’ll also benefit from the use of AJAX throughout the website to provide a more intuitive experience for everything from doing a search, to scrolling content.
Improved Search and Navigation
One of the nicest parts of our new design is our sleek, floating navigation bar, which never leaves, and is always there when you need it. This new interface provides access to the pages you want to view most, and allows you to search for a page you can’t find by displaying real time results as you type.
Each menu heading also contains thumbnail versions of the latest concert news in whichever category you hover your mouse over, regardless of where you are on the website. We believe these new approaches to navigation and search will make it much easier for concert fans to find exactly what they’re looking for, in record time.
Mobile = Desktop
In 2014 when we launched our first mobile responsive website, we knew there was a lot more to be done, so with this design, we wanted to make as many features available to our mobile users, which account for 70% of total traffic on Atlantic Canada Rocks. Our mobile site now contains simpler menus, the same incredible image based design, real time search, and many other awesome features mentioned above.
Several Other Improvements
We have refined other portions of the website including switching to a Facebook comment system, easier, more secure contact forms, and made the website faster in every possible way.
