TRUSH HERMIT ROCKS TWO ‘SOLD OUT’ SHOWS AT THE PARAGON THEATRE – March 20th, 2010

Wow, if you missed this show, you missed one of Halifax’s best shows ever! Opening with Dave Marsh’s band, and closing with a second encore, this was an epic night for rock in Halifax.

They played all their old hits from Pacific Ocean to From the back of the Film, and played for almost 2 hours. The band reunited for a show in Moncton, two shows in Halifax, and at least 5 shows across Ontario.

The boys played like they have been practicing for 12-13 years, not broken up for that many. It was an incredible evening for Halifax’s music scene as all the old Halifax music scene kingpins were in attendance, with an Olands in hand.

Joel was in great form – head shakin’ and rockin’ like the high school daze. The band seemed as excited to have played, as the crowd was to watch them rock. The crowd was a 30 something, mature and respectful bunch who had been waiting for this moment for years.

It had been a while since I had thrown on a Thrush Hermit CD, and like their T-shirts read at the merch table that night, “Thrush Hermit was my favorite band”.

A salute to the boys in the band who had somehow not lost a lick, note, or chord in the last 13 years!
