Love Metal and Punk? You’ll want to take a last minute Montreal road trip next weekend!

Over the past decade, the province of Quebec has made a name for itself in being the ultimate festival destination for music lovers, be it for a show or two during the week-plus Quebec City Summer Festival, Rockfest, or Osheaga just to name a few.

Evenko, the promoters that bring you Montreal’s Osheaga, plus many great arena shows here on the East Coast (Bryan Adams and Chicago upcoming) have made great efforts to make Montreal the ultimate festival road trip zone, for all music fans. Next weekend, Metal and Punk fans can rejoice as ’77 Montreal and Heavy Montreal return to the city once again, and this year is certainly worth the trip from the East Coast! Let’s dive into details…

’77 Montreal

’77 made it’s entrance onto the scene last year with the goal of bringing punk rock fans together for a day of music under the Montreal sun.

Taking place July 27th, the day before Heavy Montreal, the festival will see performances by Rise Against, Suicidal Tendencies, and many more.

With General admission tickets costing $70, or $210 as part of the Heavy Montreal weekend warrior pass, this is a show not to miss.

Heavy Montreal

Having been a staple festival since 2008, Heavy Montreal is always on the minds of rock fans all across Canada, especially for East Coast road tripping fans. Following a hiatus last year, the festival has returned bigger and better than ever with acts such as Limp Bizkit, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and many more.

Limp Bizkit came to the rescue just last week following Avenged Sevenfold’s withdrawal from their summer tour due to health concerns, Fans shall not worry though, as Limp Bizkit is expected to play a set jam packed with their greatest hits.

“After a year on hiatus HEAVY MONTRÉAL presented by Coors Light returns on July 28 & 29 at Parc Jean-Drapeau & July 27 with HEAVY in the City. Hibernation is over!” organizers evenko exclaimed in a press release earlier this year.

Tickets start at just $165
