The wait is finally over…. Counting Crows will be “Round Here” this week, with the Atlantic portion of the Somewhere Under Wonderland tour beginning tonight in Moncton at Casino New Brunswick, continuing a string of incredible shows that have included sold out Alice in Chains, ZZ Top and more that have graced the venue over the last year or so. The tour then stops in Halifax Thursday night, and St. John’s Saturday.
“It’s about time we’re getting back to Canada. After requesting it for years, we are finally getting a legit chance to play across the country. I can’t wait,” said Adam Duritz, earlier this year.
Known as one of the most dynamic live bands performing today, they will be performing songs from the 2014 Top 10 album, which critics have been claiming as the “band’s best”, as well as their extensive catalog. USA Today called Somewhere Under Wonderland “one of their stronger works,” with Consequence of Sound comparing it to “a colorful and emotionally rich palette of sounds that combines past recording styles, flavors from covers album Underwater Sunshine, and the spontaneous spirit of their live performances.”
Many Atlantic Canadian fans will have heard “Mr. Jones” at some point or another even if they can’t name the band off the top of their head. That band, Counting Crows have probably landed in our region as of writing, and you do not want to miss this show, so hop online, or in line for great seats on concert night.
Rueben and the Dark will support the band, as announced last week.
