Fan campaign thanks supporters as RUSH announce first East Coast date in 25 years

Halifax N.S – Atlantic Canada Rocks is thrilled to announce that a successful conclusion to the RUSH THE HILL campaign / petition has been reached with the news that RUSH will be playing the Halifax Metro Centre on July 12, 2013.
The indoor concert will mark the group’s first appearance in Halifax since 1987’s “Hold Your Fire” tour.
“We are ecstatic that RUSH is finally making a return to Halifax on their Clockwork Angels Tour and thank all supporters and staff that were involved, RUSH fans were the driving force behind all of our efforts and another success clearly shows that fan conversation really can make things happen.” Said Cole McLean, founder of Atlantic Canada Rocks.
The concert will take place at the Halifax Metro Centre in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia on Friday, July 12, 2013. Fan club tickets will be going on pre-sale February 19th at noon with more details at RUSH.com. General on sale will take place later next week through TicketAtlantic.com, By phone at 902-451-1221 and all Atlantic Superstore outlets in HRM. The show will be presented by Evenko.
Rush, consisting of bassist and lead vocalist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and percussionist Neil Peart embarked on the “Clockwork Angels” tour in the autumn of last year visiting North America. A European stint is planned for May/June followed by a North American summer leg in July/August of this year.
Longtime RUSH fan and concert veteran Steve Costie is among the most excited of all fans calling RUSH one of the most powerful live bands of all time. “We’ve waited over 25 years for this amazing band to return to Halifax. We will all be blown away by the professionalism and power of Rush live!!!” Costie stated in an email to Rush The Hill.
“Fans have waited 25 long years for the return of the “Holy Trinity” and the wait is now over. A third successful campaign is proof that it’s all about the fans when booking shows in our region.” Concluded McLean.
