Perfecting the gig: Rock The Hill 2011 announcement featuring Metallica pushed to Monday; Potential opening acts.

A very close source tells Atlantic Canada Rocks that the Metallica show scheduled for July 14th on Citadel Hill will be announced Monday.

The festival is expected to be branded under the name “Rock The Hill”. A splash page has been setup at rockthehill.ca telling fans to stay tuned. In ther bottom left of the page, there is an image depicting the Halifax Town Clock. A source has confirmed that this will indeed be the name of the event.

According to the source, there was a slight delay in firming up the details with opening acts, which Metallica gets the final say on.

The date was originally expected to be announced in the late hours of Wednesday or early hours of Thursday.

Tickets are set to go on sale in the May 12-14th timeframe for what is sure to be one of the greatest shows Halifax has ever seen.

A rumoured opening act is Three Days Grace.

The acts have now been signed and the announcement is imminent…..
