Sarah here with some great artist interviews. With Cavendish Beach Music Festival fast approaching, I thought I’d catch up with some of the great performers to hit the main stage this July!
One of the great artists I had the privilege to interview was the always awesome Bobby Wills who hits the main stage of Cavendish Beach Music Festival on Sunday, July 10th! Here is what Bobby had to say! Enjoy!
SM: “Tougher Than Love” was released earlier this year. What has the fan reception been like?
BW: The response has been overwhelming!! Anytime you create new music you hope it makes your core fans happy, and brings in new ones! “Tougher Than Love” has successfully done both!
SM: Where did the inspiration come from when making this album?
BW: Inspiration can be pretty random, and in the case of this EP, that was certainly the case. I wear my heart on my sleeve, so when you hear a Bobby Wills song, it’s generally written—and inspired—from firsthand experience.
SM: What is your favourite song (either from the new album, or otherwise) to play live?
BW: Picking a favorite song is like being asked to pick a favorite child. I really love them all for different reasons. One of the special moments for me is the title track “Tougher Than Love” as it’s a song that really represents much of my life and experience. I’ve learned that things don’t always go according to plan, but perseverance and faith drive success and happiness.
SM: Are you looking forward to the Cavendish Beach Music Festival this July?
BW: Cavendish has been on my wish list for a long time. To say that I’m excited to be back in the East Coast for this legendary festival would be a huge understatement!!
SM: What can fans expect from your live show?
BW: We try to hit all the emotions in our show with an emphasis on FUN!
SM: What are your plans for the rest of the summer/ the rest of 2016?
BW: We will be touring coast-to-coast playing shows, and somewhere in between, we will be finishing up the next record!! It’s going to be a crazy summer!
