A preview: Why FredRock Festival is a must attend

For many music fans, this weekend is special, well, one of five special ones that is. The 5th annual FredRock Festival will be taking place in the beautiful city of Fredericton starting tomorrow.

Over the years, legendary acts have graced the stage on the Fredericton Loyalist’s Rugby Grounds. From Joel Plaskett to Steve Earle, FredRock has seen it all.

For year 5, festival organizers will kick things up, extending the festival to a full three days of spectacular lineups.

Performing in the headline spot tomorrow night are Canadian favorites The Tea Party, Classified, Hollerado and Wildlife. The gates open at 5pm, so there is still plenty of time to gas up the automobile and make your way to Fredericton. For one of the performers, there may be surprise in store, although that’s all talk at this point.

For hard rock fans, Saturday will see the dream show with headliners Buckcherry, as well as support by Big Wreck, Monster Truck, Sebastian Bach and Fredericton local favorite Age of Days.

People say Sunday is a very peaceful time of the week, and that’s just how FredRock will cap off in 2013 as music fans sing along to the beautiful voice of Dallas Green (City and Colour), Matt Mays, K-OS, and The Reason.

The weekend is going to be filled with sing alongs, cheers, and good times, and that’s exactly, what has year after year, made FredRock one of the best festivals in Atlantic Canada, bar none.

As of publication, the Delta Fredericton is sold out, but there may be other rooms nearby.

If you are looking for great food, there are many places you can visit, one of which is The Diplomat, the only place in town you can get Eggs Benedict, or Sweet & Sour Chicken, 24 hours a day, for a great price.

For ACR, this will be our third year at this amazing festival, and Cole & Stephanie will bring you live updates, photos, show recaps and more.

Are you sold yet? If not, remember that it’s about more than the music, but about meeting like minded people from all around the region and having the time of your life.

Tickets are still up for grabs at FredRockFest.com and you can also walk up to the gate for single, and 3 day pass options. We are hearing that tickets are becoming limited, so get them ASAP.

See you tomorrow Fredericton!
